About
Daniella Raphaël is a British-Lebanese writer, director and producer whose intimate character storytelling carries a cross-cultural sensibility, shaped by an upbringing between London and Beirut.
A graduate of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, she wrote and directed Le Beyrouth, inspired by her father’s childhood in the Lebanese Civil War, which screened at the Oscar- and BAFTA-qualifying LA Shorts International Film Festival and won Best Cinematography at the Trinity Film Festival. She produced the USC senior thesis Nuns with Guns, which premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
Outside USC she directed the dance film Baraye, an official selection at dance film festivals from San Francisco to Cyprus, and the 25-minute drama Mon Premier Amour, shot in Lebanon. She also directs hybrid live-action commercial work, and is developing her debut feature for production in Europe.
